
Maruti Suzuki has some really big plans for the Indian market. In the next couple of years, the Indo-Japanese is planning to expand its SUV portfolio with a range of new models along with the multiple new-generation and facelift versions of the existing products. Here’s a complete list of the upcoming Maruti cars in India in 2023 and 2024.
Upcoming Maruti Cars In 2023, 2024
1. New-Gen Maruti Swift

Japanese automaker, Suzuki has started testing the next-gen Swift hatchback on the European streets. If reports are to be believed, the new model will make global debut by mid-2023; however, Suzuki is yet to make an official announcement on the same. The new model is also likely to arrive in our market in the end of 2023 or early next year. It will receive significant design changes and upgraded cabin. The new model will be based on the stronger version of the HEARTECT platform that underpins the new Baleno hatchback. It will continue to be offered with 1.2L DualJet petrol engine with manual and AMT gearbox options. The new model will also receive a factory-fitted CNG kit. The new model will also receive a new 1.2L petrol with a strong hybrid tech, which is reportedly to offer a fuel efficiency of over 40kmpl.

2. New Maruti Brezza CNG

Maruti Suzuki had launched the new Brezza sub-4 meter SUV in the country in mid-2022. The company has also announced to launch the CNG version of the SUV in the near future. In fact, MSIL has showcased the Brezza CNG at the 2023 Auto Expo. The CNG version will retain all the features that are available in the standard model. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre K15C, dual-jet petrol engine, which will be coupled to a factory fitted CNG kit. The Brezza CNG will get the same powertrain with a factory-fitted CNG kit. This engine is likely to produce around 87bhp of power and 121Nm of torque. It will only be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

3. Maruti Suzuki Jimny

The Indo-Japanese carmaker had showcased the 5-door Jimny lifestyle SUV at the 2023 Auto Expo. Interested buyers can book the new SUV online or at authorised dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. It’s surely one of the much-awaited upcoming Maruti cars in the country. The model (codenamed – YWD) will be offered with the 1.5L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s good enough for 103bhp and 136Nm. All variants of the compact off-road SUV are likely to get 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system as standard. It can be had with either 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.

4. New Maruti Fronx Crossover

Maruti Suzuki had showcased the new Fronx crossover at the 2023 Auto Expo. The new model is essentially a crossover version of the Baleno hatchback. It can be booked online or at authorised dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. Prices of the new model will be announced in March or April 2023. It will be offered with two engine options – a 89bhp, 1.2L NA petrol and a 100bhp, 1.0L turbocharged petrol. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual, an AMT and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic with 1.0L turbo unit.

5. Maruti C-Segment SUV

The Indo-Japanese automaker is preparing a new 7-seater SUV, which will be positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and the Mahindra XUV700. It is expected to come as a replacement for the Suzuki XL6 and will be sold through NEXA premium dealerships. The new SUV could be the 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara SUV. It is likely to be offered with Toyota’s strong hybrid powertrain along with a naturally-aspirated petrol engine.

6. Maruti Electric SUV

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota will jointly launch a new electric vehicle in the Indian market by 2025. The Maruti Suzuki’s first EV will be a mid-sized SUV and will measure around 4.2 meters in length. The Suzuki-Toyota JV is developing a different derivative of the 40PL platform, which is codenamed 27PL. The platform will be used to develop a wide range of family EVs starting from compact cars, MPVs or SUVs. The first mid-sized electric SUV will be based on the 27PL. The electric vehicle will source the battery pack from TDSG, a large-scale battery manufacturing JV between Suzuki, Denso and Toshiba.
In fact, MSIL had showcased an early prototype of the EV, called the EVX at the 2023 Auto Expo. The production version of the SUV could be showcased by the end of 2024 or early 2025. The concept was fitted with a 60kWh battery pack and was claimed to offer a range of 550km on a single charge.

7. Next-gen Maruti Dzire
Similar to the next-gen Swift, Maruti Suzuki is also developing next-gen Dzire compact sedan. The next-gen Dzire is expected to be launched sometime in early 2024. It will come with host of design changes and all-new interior along with a new highly fuel efficient powertrain. The sedan will be based on Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform that underpins the Baleno & the Fronx. It will be powered by a new 1.2L petrol engine with a strong hybrid tech.
