Kia India has revealed that its upcoming Carens three-row family car has received 7,738 bookings on the very first day. The automaker commenced its pre-bookings via its official website and authorized dealerships at a token sum of Rs 25,000 on 14th January 2022. Tae-Jin Park, Managing Director and CEO, Kia India, said that it’s the highest first day booking the company has received for any of its products in the country. The Kia Carens will be made available in 5 trim levels – Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury and Luxury Plus – and two seating configurations – 6 and 7-seats.
Engine setup of the Kia Carens includes a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.4L turbocharged petrol and a 1.5L diesel unit. While the naturally aspirated gasoline unit delivers power worth 115bhp and 144Nm of torque, the turbo motor promises 140bhp and 242Nm. The oil burner makes a top power of 115bhp and a maximum torque of 250Nm. The SUV comes with three gearbox options – 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque convertor automatic and 7-speed DCT automatic.
The automaker has packed the Carens with lots of goodies such as a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, a digital LCD cluster with 4.2-inch TFT MID, an 8-speaker Bose audio system and new-generation Kia Connect. The list of features also includes wireless charger with cooling function, full automatic AC unit, 64 ambient mood, front parking sensors, semi leatherette seats, 6 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, vehicle stability management and many more.
There are 8 exterior colour options Sparkling Silver, Glacier White Pearl, Intense Red, Imperial Blue, Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Grey, Clear White and Moss Brown. The dual-tone Black & Beige interior with Indigo Accents is reserved for the Premium trim. The Prestige & Prestige Plus come with Black & Beige scheme and the Luxury and Luxury Plus variants get dual-tone Triton Navy & Beige interior.
